ease note: There was no
sermon, per se, at the first worship service this Sunday. Instead, we
heard readings from several of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's writings,
interspersed with comments by Dr Rush and several musical
selections. The transcript is not available, but you are welcome to
listen to the audio recording.
All of the selections came from Dr. King's
Letter from a Birmingham City Jail
except the very first reading.
That can be found in his slender volume
Strength to Love
in the next-to-last chapter entitled
“Pilgrimage to Non-Violence”.
