Triad Arts Ensemble for a
“Canticles for Life” AIDS Benefit Concert
on Saturday, April 21, 2012, 7:00 pm at Christ Church Summit
located at 561 Springfield Avenue in Summit.
Canticles for Life Chairperson
Ginny Johnston,
of Maplewood, will be conducting the
Triad Vocal Ensemble,
which will feature a mix of repertoire including works by
Brahms,
Rene Clausen
and
Mark Miller,
Minister of Music at Christ Church.
This mixed adult choir will also perform a work composed by Ginny and set to a text by
Scott Griffith,
of Paramus. Scott was the founding conductor of the Triad Vocal Ensemble.
The Christ Church Music and Fine Arts Committee is producing the concert.
The concert will also feature Gospel singers
Cassondra Kellam
and
Julian Wamble,
accompanied by
Mark Miller
as well as Broadway singers
Melody Lieberman
and
Frank Todisco,
accompanied by
Rich Lovallo.
And back again, the award-winning
Newark Boys Chorus,
with their diverse repertoire of African folk songs, classical pieces, spirituals, show tunes, pop and jazz.
Additionally, panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display
and a new panel created by Christ Church members will be dedicated.
A reception will follow the performance.
The Canticles for Life concert will benefit the following New Jersey charities that are concerned with the quality of life for persons living with HIV/AIDS and the remembrance of lives lost:
- New Jersey AIDS Services based in Morristown
- The NAMES Project of Northern NJ, which supports the AIDS Memorial Quilt
- The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children in Newark
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for students and seniors, $25 for a contributor ticket and $60 for a Program Sponsor (which includes 2 tickets), and are available online at

The “Canticles for Life” AIDS Benefit Concerts began in the spring of 1997 and have been held almost annually since then. Over $98,000 has been raised for the New Jersey AIDS charities, and the concerts have featured over two dozen pieces by New Jersey composers.
