Revised 12-2001

Mission

The Board of World Fellowship is the outreach arm of Christ Church with a mission to serve and facilitate the endeavors of local, national, and international communities though financial and/or volunteer support to organizations, projects, and emergency relief efforts.

Distribution of Funds

Three sources of revenue are available to the Board:

•     Regular Budget - used to fulfill denomination obligations and to provide ongoing project support.

•     SOS Funds - used primarily to provide start-up funds, temporary support, or emergency relief funds for organizations with an emphasis on basic survival needs such as food, clothing, shelter and health care.

•     Margaret Baker Bequest

Funding Structure

Funding is concentrated in three areas of focus:

•     Church Related:Denominational support, memberships, church based chapters such as the White Cross, Church Women United, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network

•     General Funding: Support for organizations and projects under the categories of Health, Education, Housing and Welfare, and International

•     Margaret Baker Bequest: A perpetual fund which provides a special one time, multi year grant to provide general support to a struggling organization or agency, program, or initiative.

Grant making is conducted according to the attached schedule.

Recommendations for grants should include prioritization of disbursements to be aligned with available Treasury cash flow.

•     Organizations and projects that Christ Church members have been involved with, or have endorsed.

  1. Support(e.g., travel expenses) for Christ Church staff engaged in missions projectsthat have been developed in collaboration with the BWF.Application for these funds should be made to the Board during the planning process, and a report submitted upon conclusion.
