Mission
The Board of World Fellowship is the outreach arm of
Christ Church with a mission to serve and facilitate the endeavors of local,
national, and international communities though financial and/or volunteer
support to organizations, projects, and emergency relief efforts.
Distribution of Funds
Three sources of revenue are available to the Board:
Regular
Budget - used to fulfill denomination obligations and to provide ongoing
project support.
SOS
Funds - used primarily to provide start-up funds, temporary support, or
emergency relief funds for organizations with an emphasis on basic survival
needs such as food, clothing, shelter and health care.

Funding Structure
Funding is concentrated in three areas of focus:
Church
Related:Denominational support,
memberships, church based chapters such as the White Cross, Church Women
United, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network
General
Funding: Support for organizations and projects under the categories of Health,
Education, Housing and Welfare, and International
Margaret
Baker Bequest: A perpetual fund which provides a special one time, multi year
grant to provide general support to a struggling organization or agency,
program, or initiative.
Grant making is conducted according to the attached
schedule.
Recommendations for grants should include prioritization of
disbursements to be aligned with available Treasury cash flow.
Guidelines for Funding
The Board of World Fellowship considers funding of
- General
operating or specifically designated support for local, national, and
international community based agencies.
Small
agencies with a limited funding base, where BWF funds will have the greatest
impact.
Organizations
and projects that foster self-sustaining development.
Organizations
with stable fiscal management and administration.
Organizations
and projects that Christ Church members have been involved with, or have
endorsed.
- Support(e.g., travel expenses) for Christ
Church staff engaged in missions projectsthat have been developed in collaboration with the
BWF.Application for these funds
should be made to the Board during the planning process, and a report submitted
upon conclusion.
