Good Grief
Good Grief runs a year-round grief support center for children, teens,
parents and young adults coping with loss and depends on the work of
volunteers. Volunteer facilitators are needed to facilitate our peer

provide a safe, caring and sharing environment where grieving children
can express themselves through words, art, drama, writing or physical
play. Volunteers are also need to assist with the setup and clean on
Nights of Service and to help provide dinner and snacks for children
and families on those nights. Volunteers also serve on our Good
Mourning breakfast committee and host Heal a Heart information evenings
in their homes. Volunteer jobs range from 1 or 2 hours a month to 10
hours per month and up.

BRIDGES
BRIDGES is an outreach program for the homeless that has had its
offices and donation center here at Christ Church for the last 20
years. We thank Christ Church for its continuing support. Each week
BRIDGES reaches out to homeless neighbors in lower Manhattan, Newark
and Irvington, with its distinctive yellow truck filled with brown bag
lunches, clothing and toiletries. Donations of gently worn in-season
clothing, blankets, towels and sheets are welcome on Tuesdays, 8:30 to
2:30 and Fridays, 8:30 to 6. Brown bag lunches (a sandwich of meat,
drink, fruit, salty and sweet snack) may be made at home and dropped
off at BRIDGES on FRIDAYS only. The youth group at Christ Church does
several runs (outreach visits) per year. To sign up, contact Rev Caroline Dean,
the Christ Church Associate Minister of Adult and Youth Education.
BRIDGES also works with the Irvington Food Pantry. Donations of
non-perishable food items, toiletries and paper goods are always
needed as well as volunteers to pick up food from various sources and
deliver to the Pantry. For more information, see our website:
